Coaches Code of Conduct

Below are the Coaches Code of Conduct guidelines. As coaches, our players, parents, and outside persons will be looking to you to guide, instruct, be a role model, and represent CCSA in a professional manner. As a coach for CCSA your first duty must be to teach the game of soccer within the game of soccer.

  1. The most important and main goal of the coach shall be to teach the game of soccer within the game of soccer, in an enjoyable, educational, and safe environment, to each and every player, team representative, and parent.
  2. Coaches will conduct themselves as a professional in all team training and match activities.
  3. Coaches will abide by and enforce to the best of their ability all CCSA policies, Tennessee Soccer policies and require the same from their team their team representatives, and parents.
  4. The education of soccer for the player?s skills, values, and social skills shall be placed above winning.
  5. Coaches will display integrity at all times and require the same from their team, the representatives of their team, and the parents of their team.
  6. Coaches will support the match referees in enforcement of the rules and will require the same from their team, the representatives of their teams, and the parents of their team.
  7. Coaches will respect the player?s right to not play for them if so desired, and in cooperation with the CCSA board, help to insure the player is placed on a team that they are comfortable with, are learning the game of soccer, and most importantly, enjoying the game of soccer.
  8. Coaches will have the understanding that they represent the CCSA, Tennessee Soccer, and the US Youth Soccer organization, at all events, whether organized by CCSA or any other sanctioned Tennessee Soccer organization events.
  9. Coaches shall put forth their best effort to learn all the rules of the game of soccer, and to teach, instruct, and place into practice these rules for their entire team, their representatives of their team, and the parents of their team.
  10. Coaches will put forth their best effort to learn the most up-to-date and accurate instruction for training soccer for their specific age division, which will also be aided by the CCSA board and CCSA Coaching Coordinator.
  11. Teaching to win is good, but teaching to win at any cost defeats the purpose of the philosophy of the CCSA, Tennessee Soccer, and the US Youth Soccer organizations.
