To be a coach, you need to be able to give your time to coach your team at games, plan the games (positions, substitutions, administration), plan and conduct at least one practice per week, interact with your players' families, and in general be a champion for good sportsmanship. Soccer skills are also helpful!
If you are accepted as a coach or assistant coach, you will immediately need to complete a Coaches Application. You will also need to fill out a Background Check, Please print out your confirmation page and keep it with your application.
Complete Application and attend the new coach orientation to the Cheatham County Soccer Association.
This 2 hour class is given in August and March. If not completed you will not be allowed to coach
Sign up and attend the appropriate coaching course. Check the Tennessee State Soccer Association
web page for schedule http://www.tnsoccer.org (All new coaches are given a "TEMP" pass for 1 season ).
No one may coach a second season without completing the courses.
Attend the CCSA's Coaches meeting, usually held 2 Saturdays before the first week of practice. This Is Mandatory!
Minimum Coaching Certification
YM1 – Youth Module 1 is required for all ages through U8
YM2 – Youth Module 2 is required for all ages U10 and up
Failure to complete agreement will result in probation for 1 year. Second failure in that period will result in dismissal.
